Simple cysts are usually considered transient and benign structures that tend to resolve spontaneously. OK: The definition of simple ovarian cyst is in comparison with complex cyst. Simple cyst is diagnosed with ultrasound, you will see a cystic structure in the ovary with echo-lucent (very clear). Very oftern, it is a non-ovulated follicle. It will disappear naturally without treatment. Maybe: We usually consider cysts to be large if they are greater than 8 cm but that does vary some from institution to institution ( some set the line at 6 cm). Depends: Sometimes you just watch and repeat the ultrasound after the next period. Sometimes i may drain them in the office if they are persistent.
