What does it mean when protein in urine is plus two?

Need for: Investigation. There are many causes of protein in urine and you need an evaluation. See this site for info and consult your doctor. Http://www. Webmd. Com/a-to-z-guides/proteinuria-protein-in-urine.

Urine (Definition)

Urine is the product of the kidneys, which is produced to eliminate the waste products of metabolism, manage body fluid balance, &maintain acid-base balance. The blood is first filtered by the kidneys, and the composition of the resulting fluid is then altered depending on the body's needs. It is composed of mostly water, and breakdown products from blood cells impart ...Read more

Pupura: Recurrent purpura or petcheiae, with normal cbc and platelet count, no taking of aspirin, Aleve, etc, normal coagulation studies, and no evident liver derangement is suspicious of vasculitis-an autoimmune disorder resulting in blood leaking from tiny blood vessels in the skin (capillaries).? I had urinalysis done and 30 plus protein is in urine and back pain. What could cause protein in urine? Kidney failure?

Many things: This test detects normal amounts of albumin frequently as 30 mg/dl. I suggest a first morning void, if elevated then check a protein/creatinine ratio. Nephrology consultation may be needed, Causes, glomerulonephritis, interstitial disease, myeloma, infectin, nephrotic syndrome, diabetes, hypertension. A long list requiring medical attention to sort

Protein in urine: Requires follow up with quantification of amount - there are two ways to do this: cup of urine with protein to creatinine ratio mg/mg -- or a 24 hour urine collection. Both are meaningful. Blood tests need interpretation, also. High protein in blood could indicate an evolving disorder that requires characterization with electrophoresis. Urine protein should be characterized with electrophoresis.

What causes protein in urine?

What causes protein in urine?

Protein in urine: A small amount of protein in the urine is not unusual but it is not detected by a urinalysis. The number one concern for the finding of urine is kidney disease. Other causes include urinary tract infection and inflammation of the urinary lining like a kidney stone. Www. Peedoc. Com @drhtay.

What causes of protein in urine?

What causes of protein in urine?

Cause protein/urine: There are three ways protein enters the urine.1due to overload of protein in the serum called overflow protenuria 2due to decrese in absorption in proximal tubule of kidneys 3due to disease in the glomerulus. It can be caused by biological like Avastin (bevacizumab) used in cancer, and some drugs like nonsteroidal analgesics or drinking more than 4 liters of liquids in a day.High fever, chf, sle, diabetes&hypertensi.

What would cause protein in urine?

Proteinuria: A small amount of proteinuria (protein in urine) from time to time usually doesn't mean anything important. There are many kinds of infections and kidney diseases that can cause larger amounts or continued presence of protein, some of them quite serious. Without more information, there's no way to even guess the cause in any one person. Discuss with your doctor. Good luck!

What does protein in urine look like?

What does protein in urine look like?

Protein: Often you will not able to determine that on a naked eye exam. Proteinuria can detected by urine dipstick, lab test for ratio and a wet mount spin urine which may show oval fat bodies.

Is a 10 mg of protein in urine normal?

Is a 10 mg of protein in urine normal?

Depends: Was it a random urine or 24 hour urine? Is the the amount of protein in 24 hour urine of 10 mg/dL? Were you dehydrated when urine was collected? See this site for information on this topic. Http://www. Nlm. Nih. Gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003580.htm

What is high protein in urine caused by?

What is high protein in urine caused by?

Causes:: 1. Temporary rise in the levels of protein in urine include: cold exposure, fever, heat exposure, strenuous exercise 2. Persistently elevated levels of protein in urine include: amyloidosis, certain drugs chronic kidney failure, diabetes, glomerulonephritis, heart failure, hypertension, kidney infection leukemia, lupus, malaria......

What does too much protein in urine mean?

What does too much protein in urine mean?

Proteinuria: Protein is normally not found in urine. The usual system used to quantify protein is 0, trace, and then 1+ to 4+. So there is a source of protein in the urine and the meaning of this needs to be looked at with any other lab abnormalities, signs/symptoms, clinical context.

12
What causes the presence of protein in urine?

What causes the presence of protein in urine?

Kidney disease: Presence of protein in the urine is usually suggestive of underlying kidney disease. When the kidney filters get damaged the protein from blood tends to leak into the urine and causes further damage. Most common causes are diabetes and high blood pressure. Please make appointment to see a kidney specialist.

Trace of protein in urine. What does it mean?

Trace of protein in urine. What does it mean?

See below: You are leaking a little protein in the urine- could be from several reasons. Get a urine protein to creatinine test done which will quantify the protein leak.

14

14
What does trace of protein in urine represent?

Kidney defect: Normal kidneys usually retain all protein so no protein ends up in the urine. If the membranes in the kidney go through damage or inflammation, it may become leaky and protein will show up in the urine. Infection and inflammation can disrupt the membrane. This can be reversible or irreversible. See your doctor for further work-up.

15
What is the cause of protein in urine usually?

Many causes.: Renal disease from causes like diabetes, sle, and others accounts for the major reasons for protein in the urine. Protein should not be in the urine. The kidney basement membrane is supposed to keep it out. If it isn't intact, protein leaks out. In burns, accidents, etc., things like myoglobin leak out, and in poststrep. Glomerulonephritis, anythhing can leak out, but these resolve with rx..

Are there any home remedies for protein in urine?

Are there any home remedies for protein in urine?

Depends on the cause: Protein in urine is indication of kidney disease. The treatment should be directed at the cause. Ace inhibitors are usually used to treat diabetics to prevent proteinuria. Proteinuria is not an issue for home remedies.

What causes young men to have high protein in urine?

Diagnosis: The amount of protein over 24h, whether it is present supine and standing, the level of kidney function, and the presence of other diseases all contribute to the diagnosis. See a nephrologist for a diagnosis.

Protein In Urine (Definition)

Protein is an expensive commodity for the body. The kidneys are entrusted to return protein back to the body during filtering, and not lose it to the urine. Losses > 150mg/day are indicative of a problem with the filtration mechanism of the kidney. A nephrologist should be consulted ...Read more
