My 7 month baby is formula fed, how much milk should she be having now? She eats 3 meals per day consisting of cereal fruit & vegetables.
24-36 oz: Before babies are taking solids a simple rule of thumb is: offer 2.5 ounces of formula per pound of body weight each day. Once taking solids, it can be harder to judge but most 8 month old's are drinking about 4 to 5, 6 ounce bottles a day: some more, some less. Offer only formula or water and let hunger be her guide. If she is growing well, has frequent wet diapers--perfect! if questions; ask! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Ate granola bars w/ brown rice syrup daily (sometimes 2/day) including when pregnant. Worried about arsenic (also ate cereal with rice daily).?
Likely not an issue: The reports linking rice consumption to arsenic has scared many folks, but the data is not completely clear. For the most part i would not worry especially for an adult, unless rice intake was much, much greater than described. To lessen exposure:rinse rice thoroughly before cooking, be sure water supply levels are low, cook/drain like pasta(^ parts to 1 water to rice), or use basmati or jasmine rice. ...Read more
Is gluten free pasta ( maize starch, soy flour, potato starch and rice starch)with about 40 gm carbohydrates good for cholesterol ?
Does not matter: Since 90% of the cholesterol is produced by the body regardless of your diet, the above would not noticeably affect your cholesterol level. Do note that too much carb may not be good for your health. I don't believe extreme diet does anyone any good. Just eat anything in moderation and exercise at least 3 hrs a week will likely keep you in better shape. ...Read more
Fasting blood sugar 181.8, hba1c > 7%, taking all vitamins, exercise 6 hrs/week, eat no sugar, eat high fibre, drink water, juice, wt. 67kilo, ht 5'5"?
Look into Paleo : Your lab numbers suggest you're on the path to diabetes. Even though you don't eat "sugar" any fiber or starch that your body can digest turns into sugar and fruit juice is sugar. Even things like diary that is thought of as healthy has sugar (lactose is a type of sugar). A person with lab numbers like yours has to limit all sugars and heal the damage. The paleo approach can help you do both. ...Read more

Recommendations, on adding nuts & seeds to the diet while still encouraging weight loss? Would like to supplement w/ fruit, veggie, almond smoothies.
1 ounce/day: Nuts and seeds are great to add to a weight loss plan. Realize that one ounce of nuts is 200 calories. One ounce of nuts a day is all you need for protein, unsaturated fat. Take into account the calories from the nuts and seeds when you do eat them. They are healthy foods and should be a part of everyones plan. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Eating only 2 wholemeal bread, 1 small pack of jacob's, 3 ordinary biscuit & 4 digestive biscuit for whole day. is it healthy? my friend is on diet.
NOT healthy at all!: I have no idea what jacob's is but everything else your eating is bread/ starches. The healthiest diet (for both weight loss and good health) is to eat mostly vegetables & fruits with healthy protein and to minimize starch. You don't seem to be eating any veggies/fruit & eating mostly starch, the opposite of a healthy diet! My favorite diet is Dr. Fuhrman's Nutritarian- see http://bit.ly/1dHW9hT ...Read more
7 month girl drinks roughly 400ml of milk per day and eats cerelac 3 scoops once and rice/raggi porridge veggies once day.is this sufficient for her?
See her pediatrician: The right answer is she should see her pediatrician to make sure she's growing & developing appropriately. But this sounds like not enough. First, she needs formula instead of milk until she's about 1 year-old. Second, I'd recommend a wider variety of fruits & veggies. Also, introduce new foods slowly & in small amounts. This is a good guide to when, what, how much, etc: http://bit.ly/1AnPTt6 ...Read more
