Like all life on planet humans are open systems which keep tearing down their structure & require intake of atoms/molecules from which to rebuild their structure. Would anticipate: short-term loss with significant water loss. The military diet (AKA 3 day diet) is a short term diet plan. A specific low calorie diet menu is spelled out & is to be used 3 days per week. Food choices are provided for four “days off” totaling 1,500 calorie intake per day. The diet promises that you can lose up to ten pounds in a week. I would be concerned about how low the calorie intake is on > ...Read more
My 7 month baby is formula fed, how much milk should she be having now? She eats 3 meals per day consisting of cereal fruit & vegetables.
24-36 oz: Before babies are taking solids a simple rule of thumb is: offer 2.5 ounces of formula per pound of body weight each day. Once taking solids, it can be harder to judge but most 8 month old's are drinking about 4 to 5, 6 ounce bottles a day: some more, some less. Offer only formula or water and let hunger be her guide. If she is growing well, has frequent wet diapers--perfect! if questions; ask! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Baby now 5w takes 3oz of soy formula prepared with fluoride Nusery Water every 3-4 hours. fluorosis or are the amounts safe? Formula fed since day 3.
No need.: Congrats on your new baby and 3oz of formula prepared with nursery water with fluoride is not necessary. There are concerns about too much fluoride causing fluorosis and no need to use nursery water with fluoride. Most babies do not need fluoride until after 6 months of age. If you like nursery water, use it without fluoride until older than 6 months. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Gave up diet soda a year ago. I drink 2-3 liters of water daily plus 2 Vitamin Water Zero daily with lunch one & dinner for flavor. Safe choice?
I think this sounds: pretty good. Vitamin Water Zero passes a lot of nutritional tests: it is calorie free, has no artificial sweeteners (sweetened with Trulia and fructose) and no artificial dyes. You are getting 200% of the vitamin C recommended daily value (100% in each 8 oz), but close to 100% of a handful of B vitamins and a boost for a few more. Total fluid intake: about 84 to 118 oz daily..generous but ok:) ...Read more
Pred x 6mo. 40lb gain. Ate liquid diet half that time paleo diet (my norm) the rest. Not well enough to exercise. Off pred. Can't lose. Diuretic?
Dont think good idea: Fruits and vegetables alone- doesnt sound like a well balanced diet. Where are you getting your complete protein from. You would need at least beans and legumes for a complete protein. I think you run the risk of running into a vitamin or mineral deficiency and dont recommend it. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I've recently started drinking plenty of water (8 - 12 glasses of water daily), 1- 2 oatmeals daily, a sandwich or pasta for dinner. Is that healthy?
Eat a balanced diet: The amount of water you drink is dictated by thirst. You do not need to drink more than 4-5 glasseswater/day...Anything over will only make you run to urinals. As for food get a good balance between starches(carbohydertes), proteins and fat.. The goal is to have a healthy weight and get adequate amount of proteins, besides starches and pasta. The sources of proteins are eggs/ nuts/, soy/tofu/fish. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I'm on a strict diet plan, being gluten free, i rarely go over 1, 200 calories per day and i excercise for an hour a day, i'm 6.7 and 260, & not losing?
A couple of things: Don't think I'm dismissing your issue at hand as it's an important problem, but based on your height, weight and age, your basal metabolic rate(the baseline amount of calories your body needs just for daily functioning) would far exceed 1200kcals/day. So if you were really only eating 1200kcals/day and didn't even move you should be losing weight! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Fasting blood sugar 181.8, hba1c > 7%, taking all vitamins, exercise 6 hrs/week, eat no sugar, eat high fibre, drink water, juice, wt. 67kilo, ht 5'5"?
Look into Paleo : Your lab numbers suggest you're on the path to diabetes. Even though you don't eat "sugar" any fiber or starch that your body can digest turns into sugar and fruit juice is sugar. Even things like diary that is thought of as healthy has sugar (lactose is a type of sugar). A person with lab numbers like yours has to limit all sugars and heal the damage. The paleo approach can help you do both. ...Read more
I'm active, workout at least 3 days a week for 1-2 hours, eat decent. 1200-1400 cal daily. Gained 23 IBS in 2 months. Not pregnant.
Doesn't Add up: 23lbs gained is 83,000 excess calories. 1200-1400 cal per day with exercise should make you lose weight. Full sugar soda, energy drinks or alcohol can add empty calories you may not be counting. The excess has to be coming from somewhere.
