I had taken 25 mg Zoloft (sertraline) last Wednesday and Thursday before stopping due to side effects. Is it safe to take my cyclobenzaprine now?

Serotonine: Today is Monday and while you still might have some SSRI effect, you were taking a low dose of Sertraline and it is quite unlikely you could experience a serotonergic syndrome if you really need to take cyclobenzaprine muscular problems. If there are more concerns contact your doctor. ...Read more

I've been taking 25 mg Zoloft (sertraline) for 2.5 weeks experiencing rash moderate itching. My dr says i can just stop taking it - i thought you are supposed to wean off? What can relieve this itching?

Benadryl (diphenhydramine) otc: 25 mg of zoloft is a low dose and you have not been on it for a long time. You can stop it now. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) ( over the counter, also called diphenylhydramine) 50 mg at night might help the itching. Take it at night to avoid excessive sedation. If the itching continues in the morning, you can take a 25mg tablet, up to 3 times per day. Stop the Benadryl (diphenhydramine) when your itching ceases. ...Read more

Started 25 mg Zoloft (sertraline) 4 days ago. So tired and sleepy increase to 50 in 3 days. Is this normal? Also have a cold or sinus infection. What is causin

Maybe but it depends: Feeling tired & sleepy can be symptoms of depression for which zoloft (sertraline) is an appropriate ssri class antidepressant. It's also appropriate to start at a low dose (25mg) and ramp up quickly in an attempt to minimize side effects. Not sure what your other question is in regards to. ...Read more

Can taking 5 mg Zyrtec, 20mg omeprozole and 25 mg Zoloft (sertraline) cause seratonin syndrome? Muscles are right, cramping. Please advise

Can taking 5 mg Zyrtec, 20mg omeprozole and 25 mg Zoloft (sertraline) cause seratonin syndrome? Muscles are right, cramping. Please advise

Medication effects: I understand your concern. It is unlikely that taking Zyrtec, omeprazole and Zoloft (sertraline) will cause serotonin syndrome. Using Zyrtec together with Zoloft (sertraline) may increase dizziness, difficulty concentrating, impairment in thinking and judgment. Zoloft (sertraline) may cause Anxiety and leg cramps which can be due to stresses in life. See a Psychiatrist for Medication side effects, dose , gradual decrease, and Therapy ...Read more

I take 25 mg of zoloft (sertraline) daily, just bought a green superfood powder, it has ginkgo biloba, would it be safe in moderation?

Sertraline & Ginko?: ginko can be activating. So, if you're taking sertraline, an SSRI, in part to treat anxiety, Ginko could actually cause some anxiety. In patients who are being treated primarily for ??depression, Ginko may help. The key is to discuss the risks/ benefits & side effects of this change in your regimen with your rx'ing MD before you make it! So ring ASAP. ...Read more
