what is true?
Controversial topic: Premature cervical changes(dilatation, shortening, funneling,softening...) are difficult to measure and to interpret.Sonographic or clinical exams of your cervix are very variable, very subjective, not accurate nor reliable predictors of premature labor or preterm delivery. Consult a knowledgeable MFM doctor regarding accepted criteria for "cervical insufficiency". Your risks at 22wks.seem small. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
22 weeks pregnancy ear temp said 97.4 first reading and 98.4 after that. Normally temp is at least 98.6 usually low 99's should i worry?
Never good: Minimizing stress is ideal during pregnancy, and of course, yelling is stressful. But the actual quantitative effect yelling isn't clearly delineated. Stress reduction like yoga and counseling during pregnancy does reduce stress hormones which have been associated with preterm labor, but again there are limited studies in regards to this. ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers

Possible: Similar to dating a pregnancy by the last menstrual period, a second trimester ultrasound has a two week error when figuring out how far pregnant a woman is. The best dating parameter is a vaginal ultrasound between 10-12 weeks. The due date based on 10-12 weeks ultrasound is accurate to within plus/minus three days. A 24 week ultrasound is accurate plus/minus two weeks. ...Read more

Stage of pregnancy: Normal pregnancy is 40 weeks +/- 2 weeks. Doctors like to work in terms of weeks because it is more precise than months and helps them to think with greater precision about what the issues, expectations and concerns might be at every point in the pregnancy. Twenty-two weeks would be just past the half-way point, i.e., at about the 5th month mark of a 9 month pregnancy. ...Read more
