Medication Eval: Many psychiatrists are happy to give general practitioners a consultation with their patient who is not stable on one anti-depressant. Perhaps this could be an option for you. In the U.S. Many have added a drug named Abilify (aripiprazole) to other anti-depressants to boost their effectiveness. Hope this helps. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I had bad anxiety and panic atttacks my doctor prescribed zoloft and ativan , stayed on both medicatio for 3 years 200 mg zoloft and reached ativan as needed gafter geting better stoppred both 6 month l got worse more and more panic attac need help?
See your doctor: It sounds like you need to be back on the zoloft (sertraline). We do not usually recommend that people stay on ativan long term. It is usually used initially to help people calm down then tapered off as the zoloft (sertraline) or other medication begins to work. We cannot prescribe psychiatric medications on healthtap so see your doctor. Exercise and avoiding alcohol and stimulants will help also. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Careful follow-up: Normally, zoloft (sertraline) is used to a limit of 200mg/day. However, people with ocd who have not responded to this level may need higher doses than this. With close follow-up with your doctor, high doses of zoloft (sertraline) (from 250-400mg) have been used safely. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16426083 in this study, symptom relief in the higher dose group was greater than in the 200mg/day group. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I take 200 mg of Zoloft (sertraline) daily for chronic anxiety. I believe I may have accidentally taken double that (400 mg) today. Dangers?
200 MG q.d. is a: high dose and twice that is higher than I've ever heard. I'd call poison control or 911 just to quickly check in with the experts. If you are near an ER, that would do, but I'd call someone STAT just to lower your anxiety even more. What are your symptoms after taking double the dose? How long ago did you take it? ...Read more

I've been taking 200mg Zoloft (sertraline) for 2 yrs now. also welbutrin, BP meds & ritalin. accidentally took 200 mg more zoloft-with night meds. about 7 hrs ap ?
No danger: While the single excessive dose of Zoloft (sertraline) is not likely to cause you any danger, it is an indication that you need a better system for taking and storing your medications. I suggest a medicine "stick" available at most pharmacies to store your individual days supply of medication. Some have separate compartments for morning and evening doses. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
