Knee pain in runners: Knee pain in a runner can be due to a myriad of different things. I invariably see weak gluteus medius and hip abductor muscles in runners, especially distance runners. While it is probably not the only direct cause, it is probably contributing to your pain and needs strengthening. You should continue to follow up with pt and no run until you can do so pain free. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Also, stretch after warming up and after. With hip and knee (especially the outside/lateral part of knee) pain you may have a tight iliotibial band (itb). Google stretches for that. Good luck. ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers
Does knee pain send pain to hips? I believe my left knee caused my left hip to hurt and most recently the opposite hip. Best exercise and treatment?
I started having knee pain and they crack all the time. My dr said I have fluid in my knees caused from being a woman and we have wider hips. Really?
No: Not sure what your doctor said, but what he/she probably meant is that kneecap (patella) pain is very common in young women given the angle that their quadricep muscle makes given relatively wider hips. This angle tends to pull the kneecap out to the side and that can cause pain. Simple knee stretching and exercises should help. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Parathyroid removed dec 13 , vit d now 22 & pth 90. What would cause the low d and high pth. I'm extremely fatigued with hip and knee pain.
Parathyroid: Presumably not all your parathyroids were removed. Presumably you had hyperparathyroidism, and the bad one was removed (typically there are 4 parathyroids). If your vit d is low, your parathyroid hormone will be high, trying to keep your blood Ca normal. vit D is low because you are not taking Vit D or getting sun exposure. Easy solution: take Vit D.
