Internet : can offer some great options. Most core exercises use body weight nothing extra. A good pull up bar is useful. Pull ups push ups abdominal workout all good exercises. Brisk walks as well as a good run all good. You don't need a gym for a good effective workout. ...Read more

Use DVDs: You've got a terrific start with all that equipment! i'm a huge fan of p90, p90x and related dvds as they are holistic and cycle through resistance, aerobic and endurance workouts. Dbs and a mat should be more than enough..The treadmill for climbing (spare the joints!) can provide some variety to your aerobic training. Good start: Walking an hour a day on a treadmill is a good way to start exercising but will probably get boring very quickly. Instead, once you're comfortable walking, consider shortening your treadmill time to just 30min while alternating fast sprints w/slow recovery speeds. The exercise amounts you describe are very moderate and sound like a good thing as long as you do them correctly and if you've not had pain in joints or muscles - you probably do. Still too many carbs: The secret to maintaining a healthy weight is in limiting carbohydrate intake. Exercise and well balanced nutrition are very important, but as long as you are consuming too many carbs your body will still hold onto fat.
