2 Year Old Has Exzema And Terrible Itchy Diaper Rash
Breastfed 3 month old has eczema, gas and occasional diaper rash. No dairy has helped but he still has episodes. What else should I eliminate?
Family Hx?: Many times eczema is a form of hereditary dry skin in an infant with a family history of allergies etc, so look at family history of allergies, asthma and /or itchy dry skin. Also do not overlook the environment. Are the pollens in the air he is exposed to? What are you using to launder clothing and bed linens? What are you bathing with, and what lotions do you use? ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
My two year old's penis is swollen and very red! it hurts him to pull it back and clean it. I've put diaper rash cream. No change. What else can I do?
Don't pull it back: Now requires neosporin or Bacitracin oinment.May need some oral antibiotics if it does not respond quickly.Parents should not pull back, baby's, toddlers or little boys foreskins.Foreskin was designed to protect the penile glans & not retracted early. Retraction should wait until a boy is old enough to do it himself. U may have been given incorrect advice by a circumcised dr or well-meaning nurse. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Baby has a rash on outer lips of vagina only is that diaper rash or eczema my baby does have ezema I'm wondering if she has it on her Virgina?
Two year old constant itching w no rash? Two year old has been diagnosed w being impacted. She constantly complains of being itchy.Iam not sure if there is a connection or not.I have tryed aveeno eczema therapy, she says it feels better for about 5 to 10
Is : Is she complaining of her anus itching? If so, the most common reason for her discomfort with a history of constipation is a small tear in her anus which may be more internal, thus not visible. Treatment for this involves sitz baths and fixing her constipation. Let her splash around in the tub for 10-20 minutes 2-3 times a day. Adding a few tablespoons of baking soda to the water can help, too. Also, treating her constipation effectively to prevent re-tearing of the fissure is very important. Making sure eats plenty of fruits and veggies for fiber and drinks plenty of fluids can help. She may need a laxative for a short while to keep her stools soft while she heals - you should contact her doctor about this. If her discomfort does not resolve over the next few weeks, you should also call her doctor. They may want to examine her to make sure she is not having another reason for her discomfort. Good luck! ...Read more

If she is wearing a: diaper or pull-up at night, that could cause a rash. If she is having urinary accidents in her underwear, it could do the same. Buttock rash and thigh rash. Its itchy especially at night. Originally I thought it was scabies but it is only on the two areas. Also have eczema.
Need to see rash: Without visualization, it is nearly impossible to diagnose a rash. Given the locations you are describing, scabies does not seem to be the most likely answer. Two discrete patches that itch on someone with eczema sounds like an eczema flare, but see your physician for a formal diagnosis and treatment plan. ...Read more

9 year old has almost like diaper rash on inside of bottom cheek...Been using a&d but still there. She uses flushable wipes to wipe after bowel moment?
Avoid wipes: Wipes do not necessarily "clean" your bottom and the chemicals may irritate the skin. Try a tub bath and plain dove soap. Rinse very well. Keep the area dry, use only cotton underwear. If it is itchy it may be yeast and you could try anti fungal creams. Be careful it does not look infected, it is "honey crusting" or developing areas that look pus filled, if that is the case see your doc asap. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

It's been a week my 2 and half year old have a stuffy runny nose and breathing through mouth ... he also have bad diaper rash kindly advice ?
Conservative therapy: The nasal symptoms and diaper rash are probably unrelated. If the runny nose is clear, then this is most likely of viral or allergic origin--so simple saline rinses can prove of usefulness. Also, an OTC antihistamine such as Allegra might be worth a try--especially if allergies are suspected. As to the severe diaper rash, this probably needs evaluation by your pediatrician, as may require oral RXs ...Read more
