No...: The most likely cause of this is a virus and needs to clear out of the GI tract. The most important thing to do is to keep your child well hydrated. If he is able to drink fluids (don't worry about solid foods at this time), then keep giving him liquids. I have chronic constipation problems  and i took imodium (loperamide) due to diarrhea last two days, could there be a problem? Should i not continue imodium (loperamide)?

Dietary intake: It is unclear why you are having diarrhea on top of 'chronic constipation'. Imodium (loperamide) should be fine. For the constipation suggest that you increase the fiber in your diet or take one of the many otc preps to increase the bulk of your stool. You might try eating a cup of unpasteurized yogurt twice a day and by so doing alter your bowel bacteria and the character of your stools. Good luck. ...Read more

Have had diarrhea since this morning just water and mucus comes out now and still has not stopped . Very sore cramps . Have used two Imodium?

Hydration: Make sure that you are taking enough liquids to prevent dehydration. You may take ginger ale, Gatorade, flat soda, weak tea or any other watery liquid you can tolerate.
