Couple of causes: There are a couple of causes for white spots on the tongue. A common one at that age would be bite marks from his incisors. At 21 months, he is old to have thrush, unless he was recently on an antibiotic. Some viral infections may cause similar lesions. Possible "thrush": On the surface, it sounds like thrush, a yeast infection in the mouth.Yeast lives normally on body surfaces but multiplies in warm, moist areas. It's common in infants but less common in toddlers, so i suggest seeing his/her doctor to make sure that's what it is.
