Want pics of fetus week by week?

Not possible: Whereas it would be great to be able to see a fetus develop week by week throughout pregnancy, it just isn't feasible. Insurance companies will not pay for the ultrasounds and doctor's offices are primarily focused on the diagnostic aspects of ultrasound. Anticipate a possible dating scan, 18-20 week anatomy/ level 2 scan, then depending on clinical picture a scan in the third trimester. ...Read more

Can a fetus develop a cleft lip after 21 weeks? Just had my 35 week ultrasound and there's a big line in the upper lip in her face pictures. Worried

Can a fetus develop a cleft lip after 21 weeks? Just had my 35 week ultrasound and there's a big line in the upper lip in her face pictures. Worried

No: The direct answer to your question is no. Cleft lip is a defect of development that occurs early. It is typically discovered at your 20 week ultrasound, and if good pictures were obtained at that time, then you have little to worry about. It is not something that can occur at 35 weeks, but would conceivably be discovered at that time if not seen earlier. ...Read more

I am 37.5 weeks pregnant. The hospital I went to shows no signs of a fetus. My hCG levels are normal and I have ultrasound pics from my doctor.?

???: Don't know what you mean "hospital shows no signs of a fetus". An ultrasound was done showing an empty uterus? "hcg levels are normal" - what does this mean? Hcg is not elevated, i.e., consistent with not being pregnant? If elevated, what's the level? Simply because you have sono pix from your doctor at some point doesn't mean you're still pregnant, but need more information. ...Read more

Sure: If they saw a heartbeat then this is good sign. It sounds like you may just be 2 weeks less pregnant than you thought. Likely they will have you repeat the sonogram in 1-2 weeks to confirm all is ok. ...Read more

First ultrasound last 09/22/2014 there were two embryos . One 6 weeks and 5 days, other 6 weeks and 3 days. However, no heartbeat was found. ?

Need follow up: You will need a follow up ultrasound in 1 -2 weeks to evaluate the status of the findings. Sometimes the embryo is too small to clearly show a heartbeat prior to 6 weeks. Your doctor will likely correlate this with your lab results. ...Read more

No need to worry: The early ultrasound exam of the embryo although fairly accurate still can measure plus or minus a few days. These measurements are small and by just placing the caliber a few tenth of a millimeter more or less will give one more or less day. The simple rule is first trimester scans can be are plus or minus 1 week off, second trimester plus or minus 2 weeks and third plus or minus 3 weeks. ...Read more
