Possible pregnancy: When a woman misses 2 periods it is possibly pregnancy, so check a pregnancy test. Otherwise likely caused by hormones being off, so a period if coming will be heavier than usual. Lots of options: You will need to see your obgyn for an exam and testing. Depending on your age and fertility plans there are lots of treatment options. Birth control pills can regulate your cycle. Depends on location: It sounds like these are submucous fibroids, meaning they are inside the uterine cavity. Submucous fibroids don't have to be very buff to cause problems like heavy bleeding. The cramps tend to be worse because the uterus is contracting to try and get rid of them, but of course it can't since they are attached. Likely not serious: If it's been 2 months, highly unlikely there's anythign too worrisome going on. If it persists next month you should see a doctor, get an exam, and he/she will help figure it out. ...Read more

Recommend GYN eval.: The main reason for light periods is change in hormone levels. Anovulation?: If you aren't successful getting pregnant and are having 2 periods a month, its possible you are not ovulating. Start oral iron: If you are anemic from heavy menses, you should take oral iron supplement, available over the counter and take multivitamins also. There is no harm in taking these medications while you are waiting for the appointment, it may do you good. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Drink enough water daily so that your urine is mostly colorless. Practice safe sex. ...Read more
