Both types often are dormant and reappear during febrile illnesses or even physiologic states such as menstruation. The viruses become latent and and may not ...Read more
I had a ultrasound done 2 days ago showing two gestational sacs but they was both empty, one measured at 5w5d other 5w2d is this normal!?
Probably: If these dates are consistent with your last period then it is just a little early to see a fetal pole and heart rate. In another week or two you should be seeing something if everything is normal. ...Read more
What do you suggest if my child brought home an ultrasound with 2 gestational sac diameter measurements does that mean it's twins?
Not necessarily.: The gestational sac should be measured in three different planes to determine mean sac diameter, so there may be multiple pictures of the same gestational sac with different measurements. ...Read more

On thursday, I had a pelvic ultrasound that showed two gestational sacs measuring about 4 weeks. I took a beta hCG on friday, it was negative, showing less than 1. I had an abdominal CT with and without contrast 2 weeks ago and sacs were not visible at th
Repeat ultrasound: I don't know why you have been having these radiologic tests; perhaps for pelvic pain? In any case, speak with your hcp and have a repeat ultrasound after 1-2 weeks. Repeat the HCG test too. If you were 4 wks pregnant on thursday's ultrasound, the ct scan would have been done near ovulation. ...Read more

Check with your doct: Check with the doctor before assuming that those were gestational sacks. Not really clear what your question is on here but congratulations if you are pregnant. Talk to your doctor about the results first before assuming that you can interpret the ultrasound. ...Read more
Ultrasound says my fetus is 6 weeks 2 days but my gestational sac is 7 weeks 2 days. Heartbeat is normal. Is everything ok?
Most likely: The most accurate measurement of the fetus is the crown rump length. The gestational sac is like a fluid filled balloon, not a perfect sphere. So the measurement of the sac can vary quite a bit depending on what part was measured. If there is already a fetal heart beat, that is a great sign. Keep your follow up appointments with your OB doctor. ...Read more
Had ultrasound 6/2 that showed empty gestational sac and 6/9 that showed empty sac that had grown. Sac dated 7wk 1day 6/9. Will I have a miscarriage?
Not normal: Unfortunately this is not normal. I assume this was a transvaginal US. Fetus should be easily visible at 7 weeks, and the yolk sac should have been seen on the prior ultrasound. Please speak with your doctor, and best of luck to you. ...Read more
Hemorrhage, lower then average hormones, fetus smaller then normal, gestational sac 2 weeks behind fetus. Chances of trisomy or other abnormalities?
Maybe, miscarriage is: More likely. Not knowing how many weeks pregnant you are, it's difficult to give you more specific information. Usually the above consistent with early pregnancy loss. It is best to follow closely with Gyn/OB. Also try to avoid air travel or long car rides, trips in remote areas until this is settled. Is a beta of 1684 okay for a 4 week 2 day pregnancy saw gestational sac just on transvaginal ultrasound ?
Maybe.: It sounds within the normal range but their are charts to compare age and normal bHCG levels that I don't currently have reference to. If your doctor or US tech wasn't concerned then you shouldn't be either. If you are bleeding or concerned about miscarriage, see your doctor/provider immediately. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Gestational sac measuring two weeks smaller than baby. Baby measuring normal for dates and hb is good. Why is the sac so small and is this a bad sign?
Small gest sac: Would not be too concerned about sac size. If CRL is appropriate and HB is good those are very good signs. Be patient. Too early yet to tell much. Hope this helps. Best of luck. And Congratulations! ...Read more
9 weeks pregnant and hb and baby are measuring at 9 weeks. Gestational sac is behind in size two weeks. Should I be worried about this?
Hello doctor I was five week three days pregnant. But my gestational sac was empty. Doctor has prescribed me usg after two weeks. But now I m having b?
5 wks plus/pregnant: At five plus weeks, it is not always possible to see a fetal heart on ultrasound. Another ultrasound in "2 wks." (if that is what "usg" means) is appropriate, but if you are having bleeding, it may be a miscarriage. Get a quantitative HCG (serum) from your gyn provider. This can give definite indication as to whether your pregnancy is still viable. ...Read more

I’ve just had an early scan 6w & have one gestational sac, three yolks and one heart beat. Does this mean that one embryo split into three and these are identical triplets? And can the two yolks catch up still? Next scan seems too far away
Possibly: split into three, but from what you describe, only one heart beat, suggests only one will continue to grow. Next ultrasound will be helpful, and be sure to discuss your concerns with your doctor as well. ...Read more

A gestational sac measuring 12.37mm is I how many weeks approximately? I thought I was 5 weeks 2 days.
Patience is Key: It is best to calculate your pregnancy age by measuring the crown rump length which can be done in 2 more weeks after the embryo and heart beat are seen. Measuring Gestational sac is not that accurate for dating a pregnancy. So, please see your doctor in 2 weeks. Take Care. ...Read more

Gestational sac has consistently measured 1-2 wk behind baby. Baby growing normally according to dates with a good hb. Worrying? Space to grow?
GS size: GS size correlates very poorly with dates, so I would not worry much so long as the baby CRL continues good growth. Obviously it's not possible to say more online; just keep up with your regular visits, and keep good communication with your doctor. ...Read more
