Yes.: A 45 day cycle is a normal cycle. I'm assuming, since you seemed concerned, that this is different than the cycle you had before delivery. Sometimes a thyroid test is warranted, but yours is normal. ...Read more

Maybe. Maybe not.: It can be hard to tell if a woman is pregnant because some of the symptoms seen in early pregnancy can also happen in non-pregnant women. A urine pregnancy test gives a reliable result if done correctly. One can test about 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a period. Normal: Breast feeding inhibits ovulation, so you are correct the bleeding is not your period. Because you are not yet ovulating, you are not producing the estrogen necessary to heal the uterus after your delivery - that allows the spotting and bleeding to linger, sometimes for up to several months. Don't worry: During breast feeding the cances of oviulation decrease-lactational ammennorea. You can still bleed but it's generally not cyclic bleeding ( from ovulation). The para guard does noting to help uterine bleeding. Your bleeding is not uncommon. ...Read more
