18 Days Past Ovulation No Period
I ovulated on Saturday night, and my period started yesterday (thursday) so I got my period 5 days post ovulation. Why would this happen?
Short luteal phase: The luteal phase is the time from ovulation to the onset of your menses and average is 12-16 days. Your recent cycle was short. Home pregnancy tests should be done 4-5 days after the missed period. If the result is negative repeat the test in 4-5 days. Use first morning urine and follow instructions for the test carefully. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD.

Skipped a period: If you're sexually active, I would check another pregnancy test, just in case you ovulated late, and therefore your period would have arrived late, and an early pregnancy could've been missed. Some alternatives are that you ovulated, and had a light period -- one that was so light that you missed it. The best way to know is to visit the gyn, who can determine the right ANS with a few simple tests. ...Read more
