Contact your OB!: There are treatments available for your nausea etc. that are safe during pregnancy, but only with your OB's knowledge & consent. Ginger ale and crackers eaten when you wake up and between meals may help relieve the nausea and hunger pain. Eat frequent: Frequent small meals are the best. Make sure to have some fat and protein if you can.... even if you're craving carbs. The carbs bring that blood sugar up and then down quickly and that can cause both nausea and hunger pains. We treat the nausea of early pregnancy with frequent small meals. Nausea happens if your stomach gets completely empty or over full. Yes: Weight gain early in pregnancy is not and should not be the issue so many people want to make it into. As long as you are eating regularly, taking in good quality food in reasonable quantities and taking a multivitamin (prenatal), i would not worry about weight gain.
