No: The first months are troubled by narrow nasal passages & exposure to dust, fragrences, smoke & other irritants trigger cough.Baby tries to flush these out of the nose with mucous but this often ends as congestion & produces rattling. The best rx is washing out the nose with saline & suctioning the remainder. Eliminate irritants from baby's environment & this will happen less.No cough syrup!!! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

He should be able to eat and drink without difficulty, and to breathe comfortably without using his chest or neck muscles. Iam 16 years old and always had a productive cough and chest infection every year in winter. Is it normal?
Cough in winter: If you get these symptoms only during the winter months it may be triggered by allergies and would recommend you have allergy testing done to see it is something you can avoid or get treatment for. I would also recommend you get your flu shot in late September annually. ...Read more
Get it checked: I'm guessing it hasn't really been a few months, only seemed like that. After all they are only 10 mo old. See if it's been continuous or are there 1-2 week breaks in the middle. If so, it could just be recurrent illnesses or frequent viruses. If it's really continuous, discuss with the pediatrician to see if there is more going on. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Clear liquids: Make sure to give him lots of clear fluids (water, Pedialyte) to keep him hydrated. You can give it with a bottle, cup or even spoon, if necessary. Don't worry too much if he isn't eating well- the important thing is the fluids. That will help with the fever and loosen his mucous as well. Use bulb and saline drops to suction his nose. Call the doctor if he's not better. ...Read more
3 month old pooping once a day started teething has been constipated for 2 days now. I've tried stimulation with a qutip Karo syrup apple baby food. ?
Constipation: Best not to use Karo syrup in a 3 month old because the immune system isn't mature yet. No Qtip stimulation. Baby products prune juice is a good idea. My 22 month is running a fever of 100.8, coughing til he vomits, runny and stuffy nose, irritable.
Common cold: This sounds like a typical URI in a child. Might become concerned if they are sleeping excessively, confused or not eating normally. My advice is given with the admonishment that if you have any doubts you should have your baby seen by a pediatrician or your family doctor. Always better safe than sorry. Good luck and hope they are better soon. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
