Parent must do it.: Good oral care starts day one. For infants, wiping all oral surfaces with a washcloth and water twice daily after feedings does the job. For toddlers, get a very soft small toothbrush and brush all oral surfaces gently. You don't have to use toothpaste, but if you want to use it, put only a tiny dot on the brush;we don't want him eating toothpaste! ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Young babies grow quickly, generally over an ounce a day. A parent can call to make an appointment for a recheck whenever he or she is worried about a baby's growth. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

A 1 lb weight gain is unusual and may reflect an erroneous measurement or a baby that is taking a bottle very well. Either way, there is nothing to worry about at this time. If excessive weight gain persists, check with your pediatrician. ...Read more
