The first is just wrong. The rate of heart disease was relatively low in Greece compared to England. AND SO WAS THE OBESITY RATE! . (google 7 countries survey)
Second, many good things are in that diet: no transfat, fish, vegetables, etc.

You need energy: To fuel your activities when you are awake. The Medifast program can work but it is a very low amount of calories and you need to eat all of them. Take in about 200 calories every two hours while you are awake, whether it is at night or during day. It will be OK to go without food when you are sleeping. A couple of things: Don't think I'm dismissing your issue at hand as it's an important problem, but based on your height, weight and age, your basal metabolic rate (the baseline amount of calories your body needs just for daily functioning) would far exceed 1200kcals/day. If you need help ask your parent or guardian to schedule a visit with a nutritionist or registered dietician for assistance. As far as exercise is concerned, team sports are a great way to get in exercise and lose weight. Also running, walking, or riding a bike are great as well.
You are so young, it would be wise to start practicing a healthy lifestyle and losing weight through diet and exercise as opposed to relying on diet pills that could prove to be very dangerous.
