When traveling w/6 months old to country that is 9 hours ahead will it cause my baby sleep all day(now he sleeps all night)and be awake through night?

It may take a few: days for your baby (and you) to adjust to the time difference. Depending on when you are leaving, you may be able to help that transition, but adjusting his sleep schedule a little bit at a time before you go. Otherwise you can keep him as awake as you can during the daytime once you're there and hopefully move the schedule to be more accommodating to the new time. ...Read more

Sleep: Does he sleep well at night? Does he fall asleep in his own bed alone. If he's sleeping well at night, and just doesn't need a rest during the day except for "cat naps", he may just be a more active baby than some. Put him down for a nap at a regular time and leave the room. Let him settle himself down. If he doesn't sleep, at least you will have a chance to get other things done for a bit. ...Read more

Fatigue, anxiety: Babies at 3 months do get tired but do not understand the concept of sleep. They have enough memory to handle their wakeful periods, but really just pause between them. They do not seek or understand sleep until into their 2nd year. An illness or food reaction would cause fussiness all the time. This often improves as they pas 4-5 months and can roll over and entertain themselves more as they settle. ...Read more

For each day how much should a newborn baby sleep?

For each day how much should a newborn baby sleep?

Total sleep time: Is ~18 hours/day, in 2-4 hour naps. Infants have more rem sleep than adults. Co-sleeping increases chances of parents' misinterpreting brief arousals as awakenings requiring feeds. To promote consolidation of sleep, stable pm bedtime, appropriate sleep associations (falling asleep in own bed in own room), & allowing self-regulation ( infant calms himself back to sleep) should be in place by 3 mo. ...Read more

My 4 week baby breath so hard when she drinks milk , it all happens while she is drinking during sleep?

Confusing question: Babies depend on their open nasal passages to breathe normally. If baby must stop feeding to do some breathing or seems to work harder to breathe during feedings, she needs her nose cleaned of any mucous or irritant debris. Dust, smoke & fragrances, make it hard for babies & saline nose rinse is your best rx. I don't know of any babies that drink during sleep, but many sound bad if congested. ...Read more
