You might worry if your baby isn't feeding because she doesn't seem to feel good, is lethargic, or has fever or trouble breathing. If she looks and acts healthy, it may be a temporary slowdown in her growth. She may be eating more per feed, too. ...Read more

Baby feeding should be how many once and how much?

Bottle Feeding: I'll presume since you are a man we are talking about bottle feeding! This depends on baby's age. If you have a newborn, baby should be having between an ounce and two ounces every several hours, on demand. The number of ounces gradually increases as the baby grows older and the feedings gradually space out longer. Ask again with the specifics of baby's age and we can help more. ...Read more

Can I give 1oz water (boiled for 5mins) to 7 weeks old baby after every feeding ? She is breast fed.

Is bilirubin 18mg in 2 weeks old baby abnormal/does it need phototherarapy or stop breast feeding, thanks?

Maybe (not) . . .: Check out http://www.Aafp.Org/afp/2002/0215/p599.Html for info re late onset breast milk jaundice. Typically we don't recommend stopping breast feeding but this may be one of those situations (although you still need to express milk to maintain production). Need to check bilirubin levels daily - expect rapid decrease after stop breast feeding. Then may start up again. Go see your doctor & discuss. ...Read more
