One year old vomiting and diarrhea for 2 days no fever. Should I take him to doctor?

Vomiting: Try at home oral rehydration using pedialyte and make sure that you do not give dairy products and greasy foods, using a brat diet is helpful. Avoid juices as the sugar content can actually worsen the diarrhea. If the vomiting persists you can ask your doctor for a prescription for Zofran (ondansetron). You can always take him to the doctor ...Read more

My baby girl 1 year old having vomit diahrrea fever?

Keep hydrated: We're seeing a lot of gastroenteritis, or the "stomach flu". Currently it's the norwalk virus, or a norovirus. The biggest thing is making sure she doesn't get dehydrated. Watch urine output, tears, drooling and energy level. If those start to flag a bit, then go get her looked at. ...Read more

My 6 year old has a diarrhea and vomiting, is it stomach flu?

My four year old for stomach flu, vomiting and diarrhea, it's going around. Can I give him promethazine or loperamide?

Maybe: Those meds could be used in a child that age but not without speaking to a medical provider first to confirm the necessity and the correct dose. In many cases of stomach flu all that is needed is to maintain fluid balance using the proper replacement fluids. Often all that is needed is water but larger volumes of loss may require electrolyte replacement. Know and look for signs of dehydration. ...Read more

1year old boy with 6 episode of diarrhea n 2 spike of low grade fever no complain of vomiting since 2 days. Wat is the cause n which med do we give?

Probable virus...: The most important thing in the short term is to make sure he remains well hydrated. As long as he is able and willing to drink fluids through this, that is one of the most important things. If he otherwise looks well, supportive care like this will allow his body to clear the virus. If he does not start improving in the next day or 2, or develops new symptoms (like vomiting), he should be seen. ...Read more

Sneezing, sinus congestion, chills, sweats, diarrhea, nausea. Vomiting every 1-2 hours. I got my flu shot this year.

Explanation: These all symptoms most likely related to other viral infection, not flu. To help yourself you need to drink fluids by small amount but very often to prevent dehydration, first of all. Diet with a lot of rice, apple sauce, toast, banana are helpful. Advil or Motrin may help with chills. And Day/nyouil is helpful for sinus congestion. Be well soon. ...Read more

The flu is going around my house and my 3 1/2 yr old daughter has it and she has the vomiting but not the diarrhea. But can I give her kaopectate (kaolin and pectin)?

Just to Clarify: I agree with above but just to make a few things plain:
flu (influenza) presents with fever, cough, muscle & joint aches. Never give a child Aspirin when they have fever & viral illness because of very rare risk of developing reyes syndrome. Kaopectate (kaolin and pectin) has aspirin.
Does child above with vomiting have "flu"? If no fever & other members just diarrhea and vomiting maybe not. But safer no kaopectate (kaolin and pectin). ...Read more

I hav barretts oesophagus & vomit a lot, bile acid malabsorption with loose stools recently been getting a fever after eating a meal what cud this be?

Fever: Your fevers are nonspecific and not clearly related to the barretts or malabsorption syndrome as neither of these conditions are usually accompanied by post prandial fever. Are other symptoms like abdominal pain, sweats and chills or cough also occurring then? Infection or noninfectious inflammation are to be considered. Rash in a child: Rash, fever, and diarrhea is a pretty common group of symptoms that can be caused by a viral infection. If the child is not very sick, then it is best to wait to see whether everything goes away in time. Virus infections, like the common cold or the flu, are self limited but can last for many weeks. If the child seems to be very ill, then go to the pediatrician. ...Read more

When would a simple cold turn into flu & is it more then just pre PMS. I've have a cold for 4-5 days. This Am I woke & had diarrhea, vomiting & chills.

Doesn't 'become' one: A cold will last about a week, so you're not past the avg time. Combined w/ PMS you may indeed feel awful - my sympathies! Also, colds can invite bacterial infection and then need antibiotics. Flu is also viral, but hits more suddenly than a cold. See Dr if you think it may help w/ new symptoms. Read: http://www. Webmd. Past 3 days I have been vomiting, dizzy, fatigue, and extreme diarrhea. My 3yo has had the diarrhea side and my 1 yo the vomiting. What is it?

Viral gastro illness: The most likely cause of all your symptoms is a viral gastroenteritis ("stomach bug"). For all three of you, focusing on hydration is mandatory. For the two small children, they should be evaluated to assess their hydration status ASAP. Clear liquids with electrolytes (pedialyte, gatorade etc) at room temperature in small sips frequently. Goal for the kids should be about 1 oz/hr. NO milk or diary ...Read more
