Probably not : Although goats milk may be closer to human milk than cow's milk, there are several distinct dangers to babies. First are vitamin deficiencies, goats milk lacks both vitamin b12 and folate (folic acid). Babies develop a "megaloblastic anemia" from this deficiency. Second is a danger of infection, brucellosis, you should know, so definitely boil before use. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
1 year old baby transitioning to whole milk, has been fussy, and has loose stool, is she lactose intolerant?
Possibly-: If she was on lactose-free formula and is now drinking regular milk, this could be a lactose intolerance issue. However, if she was on lactose containing formula, it is very unlikely she will not tolerate regular milk because of lactose sensitivity. I'd then look for something else new in her diet which could be the culprit. ...Read more

My son is 4 months old. Can i skip cereal but still formula feed him and give him stage 1 gerber baby food?
Sure, but....: A well rounded diet would include the cereal, which in baby food is fortified with iron, something infants need in their diets. Also, encourage you talk to pediatrician about timing of solids at 4 months. Some evidence waiting until 6 months may have advantages the most important thing you are already doing -continuing breast milk or formula, which is the cornerstone of your infants diet right now. ...Read more
My niece is on formula milk & solids. When should I stop feed her formula milk? She is 5 going 6 years old
My 6 month old breast fed baby only drinks 5 ounces per bottle. She bottle feeds twice while I work for 8 hours. She is 18 pounds. She was born 8.5 oz?
By weight is fine: She is likely getting much more when nursing directly from the breast. While you might expect her take more from the bottle at this size, she may prefer the breast and baby foods (presuming she's being fed some). As long as she's wetting aces diapers in that 8 hrs, is happy after feeds , don't worry. Offer a cup with water, too- it's time to start learning. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Is 2% percent milk ok for my 1 year old? I have been transitioning to whole milk for my 1 year old. My pediatrician told me to start pitting less formula more milk untill ther bottle is all whole milk. When i give her the cows milk her stool gets loose. M
2% vs. Whole: 2% is fine as long as the child is getting fat in his/her diet in other foods (most kids do). If the rest of the diet is lean protein, fruits and vegetables then whole milk would be a better choice for age 1 until 2. The issue is nerve cell development. The fat helps coat the nerves so they develop and work better. No more then 30% of the diet should be from fat though. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Why ??: Such additives do not improve the babies nutrition. Occasionally a doc will recommend this to help with reflux , but beyond this i don't recommend it.. The introduction of cereals and other solids should wait until infants tongue thrust fades and they sit around 6 mo. When offered it should be on a spoon as a paste. That helps teach baby a new feeding method as they get old enough to enjoy it. ...Read more
