My metanephrine free urine was 51, blood test was 63, normetanephrine free urine 181, blood test 150- total urine 232, blood test 213. Normal?
Sounds normal if....: the upper limits for blood metanephrine and normetanephrine are 0.50nm/l and 0.90nm/l. Urinary levels are, respectively: Total 24 hr. metanephrine =1.3mg for urine; and total plasma ME+NME is less than 205pg/ml. It sound as though you're within the normal ranges, but depending on the units of measure, which vary from lab to lab and med ctr to med ctr., you may not. Meet w/ your endocrinologist. ...Read more
Need more info: This seems like a normal level for early pregnancy, but to be sure, you should state how many weeks you are. As long as you're having an appropriate rise in your HCG level (doubling every 48-72 hrs), then there's nothing to worry about. There's no need for you to continue checking your HCG level, however, unless you have concerns for miscarriage or your doctor recommends it. Congrats! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Home pregnancy test was positive but blood hCG came back negative. Ob perform a blood test again. Hcg 750 progesterone 21. Why first hCG was negative?
Lab error: Presuming the first blood pregnancy test was close to the second, one of them had to be a lab error, probably the first one that was negative. If there is any question about the health of the pregnancy, your doctor can follow the bhcg level to see if it is rising appropriately and obtain an ultrasound when the level is high enough. For more info www.Askyourgynecologist.Org. ...Read more
Thick blood , high inflammation levels abnormal liver function in all 3 blood tests, test back pos for blood clot on lung after dye test, back neg?
This is serious: I trust the dye test was a pulmonary angiogram that demonstrated a pulmonary thromboembolus, and it has also been determined that you have hypercoagulable blood. This is a major problem that will require work with your primary care physician and probably long-term medical management -- more than healthtap can do. Hope you do not smoke. The "inflammation" & liver labs need to be addressed in time. ...Read more
Probably "not": A blood betaHCG of < 1mIU/ml is usually considered to be a negative pregnancy test particularly if your period is delayed by 10 to 14 days and the test is performed by a reliable lab....Therefore you are probably not pregnant. Keep in mind that any test can be wrong or inaccurate; fortunately there are very few very rare cases of "false negative blood pregnancy tests." You may want to repeat it. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Depends: Did you miss a period? If you did and the HCG level was done after missed period, you are not pregnant. If you did not miss a period you may wish to do a home test. If you miss your period by 4-5 days, do a home pregnancy test. If the result is negative repeat the test 4-5 days later unless you get a period by then. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions for the test carefully. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD. Practice safe sex. ...Read more
Faint positive hpt w/ first morn urine, neg dr. Urine test later that day, blood test came back post. Why was drs urine test neg? Early testing?
Pregnancy tests: Blood tests are more sensitive than urine tests, especially in early pregnancy. First morning urine is usually more concentrated than urine produced later in the day. Eating and drinking can dilute the urine enough to cause a false-negative result. That is why the blood test is done for confirmation. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
