The gallbladder is a sac-like structure located under the right lobe of the liver. It is attached to the common bile duct via the cystic duct. The gallbladder can store bile when the bile is not needed, and can squeeze bile into the bile duct and intestine for digestion when a person eats larger ...Read more
Can bile leak through belly button if gallstone has cut gallbladder open? Green crusty discharge only one day, tons of pain, gallstones enlarg spleen
No: A gallbaldder condition would not "leak" through the belly button. If you are having pain and problems from gsllstones see a doctor for a referral to a general surgeon to discuss gallbladder surgery.
Having upper abdominal pains all day long did not take my aciphex (rabeprazole) today been belching passing gas an bowl movements acid reflux or gallbladder wch one?
Could be either/both: This could certainly be your reflux, but could also be a gallbladder attack. The symptoms are usually right upper quadrant pain, nausea, sometimes vomiting, often diarrhea, and these symptoms are usually worse after eating - esp after a fatty meal. Go see your doc and they will likely check some labs and get an ultrasound, and that will help decide. Be well!
Mainly imaging: HIDA scan involves fasting for few hours prior to study. Patient injected IV with radiotracer usually Technetium- hida which is extracted from blood stream by liver. Imaging continusously performed by nuclear camera positioned above the abdomen. Scan shows visualization of liver, bile ducts, gall bladder, bowel. Once gall bladder filled CCK injected IV for contraction and function of gb.
My wife, age 52, has a collapsed gallbladder but no pain at all. Only one episode of pain 18 years back. Is it advisable tokeep it until it hurts?

Several: Most common is "biliary colic", which is pain in the right upper abdomen and gallstones on an ultrasound test. Second would be a nonfunctioning gallbladder, which is detected on a HIDA scan. Unexplained thickening of the gallbladder wall or a large polyp of the gallbladder, or a "calcified" wall of the gallbladder are also reasons. Gallbladder stones without any symptoms is generally not a reason.See 1 more doctor answer
Yes, both.: Gallbladder "polyps" may be true polypoid lesions or cholesterolosis, related to fats in the gallbladder wall. Both lesions can "grow". If significant polypoid disease is found on ultrasound, most surgeons recommend cholecystectomy, as there is a small, but real, chance of true polyps becoming adenocarcinoma over time.See 1 more doctor answer
Nothing to worry: 3mm polyp on the Gall Bladder is nothing to worry about. It is benign and need no treatment. Plyps larger than1 cm with co occurring gall stones in people over 50 may need Gall Bladder to be removed. Also if there are several polyps or appear malignant then need to have GallBladder removed too. Follow up with your Doctor, why the test was ordered and the symptoms.

Hi I just had gallbladder removed one year ago I want to know what to eat and don, t eat after it removed thanks I am on diat?
ANYTHING: Once the symptomatic gallbladder has been removed, you have absolutely no dietary restrictions. The gallbladder does not make bile, and all the bile your liver makes is still there and still enters the GI tract. Of course, I recommend a balanced diet, but go ahead and enjoy your favorite fatty treat on occasion. Good luck.
I had a vertical banded gastroplasty 20 years ago. I suffer pain similar to one I had when my gallbladder was removed 25 yrs ago. It's severe.?
I have had gallbladder polyps for 6 years skipped u/s last year last one two years ago 1 polyp wenr from 4 mm to 6 in 2 years on u/s now is that bad?
No: Generally gallbladder polyps are observed unless they are larger than 1 cm (10 mm). On ultrasound measurements, changes of only 2 mm in 2 years can even be the difference from one observing radiologist to the next as to how they measure things.
I am 25/male, soon to operated for gallbladder. Little nervous would like to ask if I could eat spicy and little oily food after one month of surgery.
Sir, I have multiple gallbladder ployps largest one is 5mm size remain same for last 4 years, should I go for gallbladder operation or review 6 month?
On the borderline: I would get an u/s every 6 mo to see if there are any changes
GB: YOU SHOULD SEE YOUR PMD AND THEN GO AND SEE A SURGEON - IF YOU HAVE HAD 6 ATTACKS YOU PROBABLY NEED IT TAKEN OUT.
I know of no: Medical evidence to show that liver cleanse is beneficial for those with or without gallbladder. But I suppose it would depend on whom you ask.
Nonspecific symptom: Nausea is one of those non-specific complaints that need to be viewed in the context of other symptoms & signs. Nausea may derived from the brain (concussion, brain contusion, subdural hematoma, life-threatening bleed, tumor, seizure), any part of the gut (stomach ulcer, gastroparesis, outlet delay or blockage, infection, etc.), the kidneys/ bladder, the female organs...You get the point.
