1 Cm Cyst On Kidney
I have three cyst on one kidney less than 2cm and 5 on the other kidney, also less than 2 cm. # have peripheral calcification. I am very worried.?
Worried about what?: You apparently saw a doctor to have the imagining studies done. Did you have any symptoms? What did the doctor who ordered the studies tell you about the imaging results? Cysts in the kidney are not uncommon and simple cysts are not a cause for concern.
A cyst is a structure or mass that consists of a cellular lined sac. It is typically filled with fluid but may be filled with solid material. It can be congenital, traumatic, or acquired. They may develop nearly anywhere in the body and usually require complete excision for eradication or they are likely to recur. Fluid filled sacs that are not cellular lined ...Read more
Hub had a CT scan that found a 7 CM cyst in his liver read as benign and one in his kidney. Ultrasound showed complex renal cyst. Related? Age 69
Unrelated: Usually those 2 cysts are unrelated, however if the renal cyst is complex then a follow dedicated ct or ultrasound of the kidney should be done in 3-6 months to confirm stability.See 1 more doctor answer

And the question...: Your pattern suggests either extreme cycle variability. 6 pregnancies, 3 births, if not ab then have you been checked for lupus? Is this a problem with other family members or children? Does you have extreme diet patterns, or medications that would affect your hormonal pattern? Recommend close supervised diary of lifestyle, diet, body temp, after visit with ob-gyn.
What is the difference between a typical and simple kidney cyst? I have a typical simple cyst of 1 CM on left kidney. I 'm male 31 years...
Atypical v simple: Simple cyst is a sac that contains clear liquid. It is usually benign. Atypical means non-typical. The contents here are not clear. It may contain old blood, fatty tissues, or solid tissue. We worry about possibility of solid tissue because it may be cancerous; hence, the follow up ultrasound which is designed to detect growth in order to allow for prompt intervention if needed.

Please, rephrase: Info that you sent are not worrisome. But, to get a good answer, resend question. Age & sex are included, you don't need to mention them. Focus on one topic that has no answer to you. Note the limit of space. Left kidney is normally little bigger than right one. A few simple cysts are usually not a concern.
What is the meaning for a cyst measuring 1.7 CM x1.5cm noted in the lower pole of the left kidney, whether it is curable or non-curable details please?
No cure. ..: Most likely, the cyst of left kidney is a common incidental finding found while being evaluated with CT/MRI for abdominal pain or backache, will stay with you forever, and most times requires no Rx / intervention if a simple cyst is well defined. If not, periodic US for follow-up may be required. As to how often the F/U is needed, ask Doc for detail timely. Remember Doc have never cured anyone but
It is a round fluid: Filled ball like mass that has divisions in it and looks like it is filled with blood. A simple cyst has no internal divisions. Like a grapefruit would be complex but a blown up balloon simple!!
Usually not: Most of us adults have kidney cysts and they are usually benign. There are certain characteristics on the scan which can make us more suspicious for cancer and require further testing. Radiologists are very good at picking those up. Usually for benign cysts, we just recheck them in 3-12 months to make sure they are not growing.See 1 more doctor answer
Dads kidney ultrasnd say, ^ a cyst is seen in left interpolar region w. 78cm w adjacent calcification. 1.73 x 1.09 CM cyst also noted. Should I worry?
Could be: This sounds like multiple cysts with a calcification. You need to review this with the physician treating dad. Find out what it is. Express your concerns.
There are multiple sub-cm hypodensities of the left kidney, too small to adequately characterize but may represent cysts. Both kidneys enhance with?
Polycystic kidneys?: There is a condition called polycystic kidney disease in which there are multiple cysts within the substance of the kidneys. They may not be detectable early in life, but as one gets older, the cysts grow and may become more numerous. Often, tests/scans are being done for other reason, but findings such as your is suspicious for pkd. Follow-up with doc for periodic monitoring. Good luck.
There is a 1 CM low-density lesion within lower pole of the right kidney most consistent with a cyst. No renal masses are identified. No hydronephrosi?
They found a 1.6 cm cyst on my right inferior pole of my kidney with small peripheral calcification. The rechecked me and did a 3 month follow up for another ultra sound. Good news, cyst didn't change in size. BUT they want to do another follow up ultra s
Good plan: Small cysts of kidney are seen frequently while actually looking for other problems The usual plan is to follow at reasonable intervals...6 mos. Or so the first year and if no changes yearly or less as time goes by and no growth
I have a cyst in my right kidney dimension 1 litre or 12 cm diameter. I also have low back pain due to 2 damaged discs. My questions are: 1 - Does the cyst impact the back pain negatively? 2 - Should I have the cyst removed? Any surgery risk?
Hard to say-maybe: That's an impressive sized cyst in the kidney & may be big enough to refer pain itself to the back. The presence of degenerative disks in the back likely means overall pain is a combination of both problems happening at once. Surgical risks are present in ALL cases where anesthesia is given. What is a questionable punctate calcific density in the kidney, CT report says that. Also what is a 1.2 CM probable cyst in the lower pole of kidney?
Kidney abnormalities: "calcific densities" in the kidneys usually represent calcifications or stones, depending on any other associated findings they may have mentioned. Sometimes kidney tumorsay calcify, but they would have mentioned any finding concerning for this. Cysts are very common, and if they meet certain well defined criteria (bozniak classification), they are usually benign and need no further follow up.
Just had a ct scan done with contrast it showed left adrenal adenoma 1.7 cm. Small renal hypodensities left kidney. 1cmcomplex cyst left kidney should I be worried?
Likely no, but..: What you report are largely seen incidental findings but a few loose ends here should be addressed to make sure there is nothing more insidious ie. How complex exactly is that left renal cyst? also, an adrenal adenoma cannot be definitely diagnosis on a contrast enhanced scan unless a very specific protocol was followed. Feel free to schedule a consult and we can review your CT and the details.

My lumbar MRI shows hyper intense lesion measuring 2.5 CM in right kidney probably related to a cyst. What should I do?
Seen answer: It’s not uncommon for one imaging examination to detect an “incidentaloma” – an unrelated observation in the obtained images. Talk to your dr. / radiologist – they may want to confirm this observation with a renal ultrasound or possibly a repeat MRI – if it is a renal cyst, these are common, and usually not of clinical consequence.See 1 more doctor answer
While ultrasound scan it was found, there is a 6*4*3.5 cyst from lower pole in my right kidney and a simple cyst at midpole in left kidney which is 2 cm, is there anything to worry doctor please help me out?
See below.: If both are simple cysts (no internal echoes) there should be nothing to worry about. However keep in mind that the study is operator dependent, and may vary with their expertise. Therefore a couple of follow ups may give you more comfort. These can be done at 6mos and 1-1 1/2 yrs. You should talk to your doctor in reference to this, and the U/S lab expertise with renal U/S.
