Yeast infection: Once a yeast infection has set in, it's very hard to get rid of it with home remedies (there are none that i know of that work safely and consistently). Over the counter yeast infection treatments are safe, affordable and most of all, they work! and you don't need a doctor's prescription to purchase them.

See your doc: Sme people have reported that eating yoghurt helps keep a yeast infection away. However, if yours is as bad as you say you should probably consider an antifungal cream. This may not be easily treatable with non-medicinal means.

Needs testing: Vaginal discharge requires an examination to determine the cause and treatment. Bacterial vaginosis is the most common cause and often has a vaginal odor. Vaginal itching can be a sign of a yeast infection. Sometimes vaginal discharge can be a sign of a sexual transmitted infection. Testing is important to determine the treatment and keep you and your partner safe.

Must see: You have to see your doctor for evaluation and to discuss treatment options. This may include referral to a dermatologist and a gynecologist.

Airway inflammation: Since ear infections begin with inflammation in the upper airway (nose and throat), parents should avoid situations that may lead to inflammation. These include, but are not limited to: cold viruses, irritants like cigarette smoke, and aeroallergens such as pollen, in certain susceptible children.

How do I know if a bacterial infection is causing my child to vomit and have diarrhea?

It usually is not: Most of the time stomach bugs are caused by viruses rather than bacteria, and most of the bacterial causes are usually not treated in children. Bacterial stomach bugs are a bit more likely to cause high, prolonged fevers and bloody stools. The biggest worry with GI infections is dehydration. Make sure that your child stays hydrated and have him or her seen if you are at all concerned.

No: First genetics are responsible for only some birth defects. Second the genetic tests that are usually done in pregnancy are for chromosomal problems (like down's syndrome), not for single gene problems or genetic syndromes.

What is the difference between bacterial vaginosis and a vaginal yeast infection?

Different causes: Bacterial vaginosis is caused by bacteria normally found in the vagina. Discharge is white to grey and often has a fishy odor. Yeast is caused by a fungus; discharge is thick and clumpy often with itching. The first is treated with an antibiotic, the second with antifungal medication. People often self diagnose incorrectly and use the wrong treatment.
