Get checked out: Rectal bleeding is potentially a sign of a serious problem. Fresh, bright red blood is indicative of bleeding from a anorectal source most commonly hemorrhoids. See your doctor about this.

BRBPR: You may have painless hemorrhoids that started bleeding from straining the first time around and subsequently noticed it. Hemorrhoids are the most common cause of minimal painless bleeding. Fissures can also cause bleeding but usually have discomfort with defecation and wipe. Other causes are certainly possible which your doctor can discuss with you. Keep your stools soft and this may help.

Maybe: If blood is bright red (like a clot), it often is caused by hemorrhoids or straining to have a bowel movement. Small veins on the inside and near outside of rectum are thin walled and can start bleeding. You should seek a medical exam to determine cause or need for other kinds of testing to see if you have colon or rectal problems. Usually use of stool softeners and fiber in diet will help.

Could be hemorrhoids: One would need to check the outer rectal or vaginal area for a tear or a hemorrhoid. I'd recommend exam by your doctor.
