I found out i have herpes. i was sexually assaulted in past. can this cause problems like hpv or cervical cancer in future? i am not familiar with it

Some basics: Herpes & the strains of HPV are not the same but are passed through sexual contact. The pap smears done routinely to screen for cervical cancer started decades before we understood the link to some HPV strains. If you acquired any of the many HPV strains associated with this cancer it may or may not ever trigger cancer years or decades later. Herpes does not.
