Possible: Anyway he needs to drink a lot of fluids and have rest. If it subside completely it's possible stress related. But if not it's most likely acute gastroenteritis, viral, and requires more attention for week. Light diet and fluids. If stomach pain present better to make sense to go to the doctor.

Stress: Sounds like stress. If the symptoms have subsided then I would not worry. However if they persist or reoccur then you need to let his doctor have a look. Good Luck
