Norethisterone prescribed to help stop vaginal bleeding. been bleeding for 3 months. take 2 pills once a day x2weeks. day 3 for me. how long it takes?

Not sure: Norethisterone tablets are progestogens, similar to the reproductive hormone progesterone, used more often in the U.K. The usual dose prescribed to stop abnormal bleeding is a 5 mg tablet three times a day for 10 days. With that, bleeding usually stops within 1-3 days. Assuming you have the 5 mg pills, you may not be getting a high enough daily dose to have the desired effect.Review plan with Doc
