Pap Question: It is normal to have a little spotting after a pap. Some of the collection brushes are vigorous but give a better specimen. Paps are recommended every 3 years only in low risk patients (1 partner, no past abnormals), but you still need to see your GYN and get an exam annually to assess hormone balance, check uterus and ovaries, and answer other preventive medicine questions. Hope that helps.
