A 17-year-old male asked:

cluster of white bumps on gums, but no other herpes type symptoms? what could this be?

White bumps: Could be aphthous ulcers, but that's just a guess. You have to see your Dentist to determine which of the hundreds of white bumps you actually have.

4 painless white bumps on my gumline. 2 are gone but another showed up. Dentist told me they were herpes, but they've lasted over a month. What r they?

Herpes does not: Cause white bumps rather blisters that turn into ulcers and should not last for a month.

I agree with Dr. Lutwick. Upgrayyedd, I would get a second option from another dentist. Take a picture of the bumps with the camera on your phone next time they appear so you can show the dentist...just in case they are not there when you go for your appointment.
