Extremely low odd...: The profile of being on pill plus the timing of sex bears an almost zero odd to conceive. Nonetheless, still do HPT one week after missing period and repeating it in another week if the first HPT is (-) and still in doubt, since there has been no known contraceptive possibly yielding a 100% success. More? Seek timely evaluation and counseling so to elevate safe-sex practice and lessen worry.

Repeat the test: Sometimes it takes up to a weeks for the urine test to turn +. If you feel pregnant and continue to have a negative urine test i suggest that you have the more definitive blood test.

Do a blood PT: You need a blood bhcg, if neg could be form other hormones being not right or other pronblems, your gyn can figure out what is going on when you see your gyn or a gyn, they will do an exam, blood work and ultrasound.

Water retention: It could be other things, but probably some lingering hormonal changes like water retention. If you think pregnancy is possible, then do a test.

Many reasons: The clinic should have already told you possible causes, could be pregnant or problems with your female hormones you need the results of the blood and cultures and i recommend getting a pelvic ultrasound by a gyn doctor.

I am 45 with 3 failed ivfs, 5 yrs ago. Benign ovar. Cyst removed then. Last period jul 10. Hcg 464 (20 dpo) & 843 (22.5 dpo) mild cramp, no bleed, ache 1 side. Ectopic, cancer, menopause?

Seems ok: Is DPO days post ovulation? If so, your HCG roughly doubled in 48 hours...That is a good textbook rise! a mild cramp is common, and no bleeding is always good. Seems to me you are pregnant! no indication of ectopic, no reason to think cancer (hcg producing cancers are typically seen in much younger women ie teens and 20's) and menopause doesn't give you rising hcg. So for now, congrats and luck!
