Yes: You are probably protected from day 1 if you started your pills after a period. However, i like the way you think. I tell my patients to use condoms until they finish their first pack of pills. But remember, the pill does not protect against stds, and if you haven't done so yet, get the Gardasil injections to protect against hpv.
