Warts: Plantar warts and genital warts are both caused by hpv, however, they are caused by different strains of the virus. These different strains tend to stay isolated to only certain areas of the body. It is unlikely that your plantars warts caused genital warts or vice versa.

Usually unrelated: While both are infections caused by hpv, they are infections caused by different strains of virus. Usually, having one does not mean you will have the other.
