Many things: Sometimes there is minor trauma to the delicate tissues; sometimes there is residual blood in the uterus that comes out during intercourse; sometimes there is an infection. Bleeding after intercourse can also be a sign of cervical cancer or uterine prolapse. If it is persistent, you should see your Gyn and have it checked out. Best wishes!
