Loyalty aside: You are very likely safe if things are as you say. One major form of transmission is from sharing needles with IV drug use. No accusation, just delineating normal modes of i.e. Hiv transmission. Wishing you both the best of luck.

Never say never: Without making accusations, if you have been diagnosed with an std the overwhelming probability is that it was acquired sexually, but it would help to know which std you are referring to.

Yes: Yes, an untreated std can be detrimental to the unborn baby. A potential intrauterine infection can occur; preterm labor may come about; and occasionally congenital abnormalities can ensue (congenital syphilis).

A 19-year-old female asked:

What can cause a foul odor in urine, thats not an std?

Bladder infection: Foul-smelling urine can come from a bladder infection or even from certain foods that we eat. Stds do not usually effect the bladder and i wouldn't think they are responsible for the foul-smelling urine. More than likely it is from a bladder infection. Vaginal infections can sometimes have an odor as well and may be difficult to distinguish from odor caused by urine.
