Bump in anal area: Maybe yes , maybe no. External hemorrhoids are common and they are found in the anal area. Other conditions can look like red bumps and could be serious. You need to call your doctor for an examination to determine the cause and get proper treatment.

Sounds: Like a thrombosed external hemorrhoid. If no pain and not bleeding it should resolve on its own. If no better in 72 hours or more tender, or bleeding see a colon and rectal surgeon to be sure it is not something more serious. Do not ignore.
