VZV HSV HerpesZoster: Too many viruses and bad naming are part of the problem here.
Hsv=herpes simplex virus. This shows up as herpes on the lips or genital areas.
Vzv=varicella zoster virus. This virus causes chicken pox and shingles. Shingles is also called herpes zoster, but is not hsv herpes
Bottom line is you probably have hsv herpes on your face which does not affect your risk of shingles.
