Not causal: Hormonal fluctuations alone, for whatever reason do not cause ovarian cancer. We don't know the exact cause of ovarian cancer. Once developed though, ovarian cancer can cause significant hormonal changes and often can present as hormonal variations or abdominal pain and distension.
Dr. Sewa Legha

No: The cause of ovarian cancer is unknown. But oral contraceptives certainly do not cause it. In fact there is some degree of protection provided in women who have taken oral birth control pills.
Dr. Robert Fields
Obstetrics and Gynecology 36 years experience
No: In fact birth control pill users in general have a lower risk of ovarian cancer.
