41, tubal ligation in 2010, history of pcos. went in for semi-annual visit. doctor ordered blood tests. hcg comes back 444. what's going on?

Early pregnancy ...: Hcg is pregnancy hormone: unless it was a lab error you are pregnant. Between 8 to 37 women out of every 1000 get pregnant in the first 10 years after a tubal ligation. About a third of the time it's an ectopic (tubal) pregnancy - your doctor will check another HCG level in 2 days and follow you with blood HCG tests and ultrasound scans to make sure it's not an ectopic. Report any pain or bleeding.

You are pregnant: Except for certain unusual tumors, a positive beta means you are pregnant. This can happen because one of your tubes is actually open or more likely the sperm got in , fertilized an egg and got stuck in your fallopian tube. This is called an ectopic pregnancy and can be life threatening. Please follow up closely with your gyn.
