Absolutely,NOT TRUE: In spite of the recent pronouncement by the missouri senate candidate, "women cannot shut that pregnancy thing down during rape". It is critical to get std testing, counselling, and Plan B rx post sexual assault as pregnancy is one of only many adverse problems of that encounter.

Not true: This is a myth and in fact played a role in the defeat of a Senatorial candidate recently who talked about legitimate rape and non-legitimate rate and the ability of the body to reject it if illegitimate. The possibility of pregnancy depends upon the potency of the rapist and the time of assault in regards to the ovarian cycle of the female. This is why day after pills are useful in these cases.
