Many: Yeast infections are a common cause. Any vaginal discharge or leakage of urine can irritate the vulva. Scratching can cause tissue irritation and is counterproductive. Contact dermatitis is also very common on the vulva.Best to see a specialist for evaluation. On occasion a biopsy is necessary to determine the cause and best treatment.
