No: Estraderm (estradiol) is a estrogen replacement patch therapy for menopausal women or those who have had their ovaries removed surgically. It is applied to the skin for therapeutic administration of the synthetic hormone.

No: As others have said, estroderm is an estrogen replacement patch used for women who are having symptomatic menopause or have had their ovaries surgically removed. Orthoevra is the contraceptive patch and works a lot like birth control pills. It is changed weekly (1 patch = 7 pills).

Estraderm (estradiol): No. Estraderm (estradiol) is not effective as a birth control. It is not a high enough dose of estrogen to suppress ovulation.
