?question: Not sure exactly what you are asking here, but a hard vs. soft stool refers to the consistency of the stool. If hard, it can cause irritation and pain as it stretches the anus, whereas a soft stool can be malleable and the shape will change as it passes through the anal opening not hurting. Appropriate fluid/water intake is essential to a well made stool, and fiber helps regulate you too.
