If you're terrified: I'd say it's worth a little longer to wait after what you've been through. Maybe try speaking with a mental health professional specializing in trauma before engaging in an activity that is scary and after ten years. It's best to not risk a re-traumatizing; and no doubt you would want this to be a wonderful experience, not a frightening one. There's no rush when it comes to your well-being.

Trauma Psychologist: Trauma can be effectively treated. Ask your physician for a referral to a trauma-informed psychologist. Support and guidance through this process can be very helpful.
