Hey docs, should you be able to see if you have anal cancer from the outside?

Yes or no: You may see a polyp or nodule in the anal area from outside. The most common ones are hemorrhoids. When it is not sure about its nature, benign lesion or malignant tumor (cancer), a biopsy is usually suggested. Keep in mind hpv-related pre-cancer lesions can grow in the anal area. If you see a newly growing lesion in the anal area, see your doctor.
